Cadillac built the Escalade for people who haul a lot of other people. You can get it in the regular edition that carries five people plus everything they’d need for a week at the beach or an extended version, 21 inches longer, that carries eight plus their equipage.
For 2013, the Escalade comes with two different powertrains. The traditional engine, transmission combination uses the 6.2 liter V8 producing 403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft. of torque and uses Active Fuel Management which allows the engine to turn off half of its cylinders for added fuel economy. The engine is mated to a six speed automatic transmission. The Hybrid model adds an electric motor and battery assembly to the standard engine. The car will run on electricity only, gas only or a combination, whichever is most efficient. This setup allows the Escalade to post 20 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.
Cadillac has always meant luxury. The interior supplies what the buyer wants with heated seats (both cushion and seatback), 8 way power seat adjustments for the front seats, power pedal adjustment, driver seat memory, entertainment console for the rear seats, dual zone front air conditioning with separate controls for the rear seats, and ultrasonic parking sensors.
If you want to get somewhere in style as well as comfort and alacrity, and you have a number of friends you want to bring along, the Escalade is the car for you. Test drive one today at Les Stanford Cadillac!
