Cadillac is known for its stately, luxurious vehicles. Even the CTS-V was considered a large performance vehicle, going fast but keeping all of the size and interior comforts that Cadillacs are known for.
The first thing you notice about the Cadillac ATS is how compact it is. Cadillac has built the ATS from the ground up, and it shows in the feel of the custom chassis. Get in, and you’ll find an elegant but sporty interior. Turn the key, and you’ll hear a powerful purr. Depending on the choice of engine, which can range from a turbocharged 2.0 liter inline 4 (making a suprisingly powerful 272 horsepower for its size) to a 3.6 liter V6 at 321 horsepower.
Now shift into drive. Or, if you have the 6-speed manual transmission, clutch in and shift to 1st. Careful with that gas pedal: the 2013 ATS can go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. Electronic assistance, such as traction control and stability control, come standard. On select models, there is Magnetic Ride Control, which dynamically adapts chassis damping to road conditions. The result is an extremely smooth ride with lots of power on tap.
You are well taken care of on a trip with a Cadillac ATS. All models come with driver and passenger frontal, knee and side, and front and rear head curtain air bags. Many models also include a Bose premium 7-speaker system. An AM/FM/XM stereo with USB, auxiliary, and SD card media inputs are standard.
