Chevy’s 2015 Malibu has seen a few changes for 2015 that makes the mid-size family sedan worth taking for a spin. The new Malibu has much to be proud of, including exceptional crash-test scores, a classy interior and a quiet and nimble ride.
For 2015, the Malibu offers powertrain options of a standard 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine or a more robust 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, with the turbo option only being available on the LT and LZ trims. Fuel economy is aided by a “stop-start” system that automatically turns the engine off when the car comes to a stop. All 2015 Malibu models utilize a six-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive.
The 2015 Malibu offers three trim levels: LS, LT and LTZ. The base model LS offers 16-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning, power driver-seat-height adjuster, tilt and telescoping steering, cloth upholstery, OnStar with 4G WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity and CD player. The LT adds an internet-radio smartphone app and voice-text messaging, satellite radio and USB interface and dual-zone automatic climate control. The LTZ has heated leather front seats and a sunroof.
The 2015 Chevrolet Malibu provides an upscale cabin with generous soft-touch surfaces with an intuitive menu offering radio apps like Stitcher and Pandora. The 2015 Malibu’s trunk has over 16 cubic feet of storage, which is well above average for a midsize. Road noises are hardly noticeable and the suspension expertly soaks up the bumps. Front-knee and front- and rear-side airbags are standard. An advanced safety package with forward-collision warning and blind-spot monitoring is available.
