The 2013 Sonic – Best Subcompact ever

The J.D. Power award winning Sonic is powered by the GM Ecotec 1.4L DOHC engine with variable valve timing. The engine supplies 138 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque. The LS, LT and LTZ Hatchbacks and Sedans are available with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic.

LS models feature the StabiliTrak Stability Control System, OnStar with a six month Directions and Connections Plan, Bluetooth, audio and phone controls on the steering wheel, remote keyless entry and 15-inch steel wheels. Power door locks and rear child safety locks are standard on Sedans. Ten air bags helped Sonic receive a five-star rating in Vehicle Safety from the NHTSA.

In addition to the LS features, the LT model includes a three month trial of SiriusXM Satellite Radio, 15-inch aluminum wheels, power windows with driver express up/down feature, cruise control, remote vehicle starter system on automatic models, CD player and a premium six-speaker audio system with USB port. Hatchbacks add a turbocharged engine.

The LTZ trim adds perforated leatherette heated seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, rear spoiler and foglamps. Also included is MyLink Radio with AM/FM stereo and Bluetooth audio streaming, phone voice recognition, Pandora and Stitcher compatibility. MyLink is controlled by a seven-inch color touchscreen.

The all-new Sonic RS Hatchback is powered by a turbocharged engine that adds 28 lb-ft of torque. The RS comes with a sporty six-speed manual and rear disc brakes. A six-speed automatic will be available in the spring. Climb into heated leather-appointed bucket seats with suede microfiber inserts then take hold of the leather wrapped steering wheel complete with racy flat bottom. Take the sporty new RS around your favorite fast corner and the lowered and stiffened suspension will make you smile.
