Did you enjoy the release of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray the Detroit auto show this year? Then get ready! Another Corvette will make its debut at the show in January!
Last week, General Motors revealed plans to unveil the 2015 Corvette Z06 at the North American International Auto Show. The automaker said it expects to begin production on the new high-performance sports car, designed to appeal to racing enthusiasts and speed-thirty sports car fans, in late 2014.
GM’s statement said of the vehicle, “It will be the most track-capable Corvette ever, designed to deliver supercar levels of performance through unique power train, chassis and aerodynamic features.”
While actual specs and statistics are still under wraps, obviously, rumor has it that the new Z06 could pack as much as 600 horsepower from a V8 engine of some sort. Possibilities include a twin-turbo 4.5-liter, normally aspirated 6.2-liter and 7.0-liter options, or a supercharged 6.2-liter V8.
