The Multifaceted Truck: 2011 Chevy Avalanche

The 2011 Chevy Avalanche is a nice mix between a resourceful truck and a dependable family SUV. The Avalanche is also #1 when it comes to sport utility trucks due to its many great features and performance.

For starters, the Avalanche has a unique yet creative feature that virtually transforms this vehicle in less than a minute. The GM-exclusive midgate on the Chevy Avalanche gives this vehicle the unique ability to serve as a 5 or 6 passenger SUV, or it can convert the Avalanche into a full size pick-up truck. The Avalanche’s transformation to a truck begins with the lowering of the split-folding-bench seating in rear, and then the midgate is lowered to create a secured cargo area. But that’s not all, the rear window and three piece cargo cover can be removed for an even larger cargo space. The rear window can be stored away in the midgate. When the midgate is lowered into position and the tailgate is locked in, the Chevy Avalanche becomes the largest truck in the industry with its 8’2” depth, 50 inches between the wheel housing, and 45.5 cu. ft. of space. How is that for an SUV to Truck transformation?

The Chevy Avalanche comes standard with a Vortec 5.3L V8 engine capable of 320 HP and has 335 foot pounds of torque so you can haul your toys around or those needed supplies for the job.

To top it off, the Chevy Avalanche comes with a six month trial to OnStar’s Directions and Connections Plan. For more information on the Chevy Avalanche, please call (800) 836-0972 or stop by Les Stanford Chevrolet Cadillac to test drive one today!
