Chevy Cruze: 2014 Offers Turbo-Diesel Option

Chevy first turned heads with the Cruze in 2011 with what many considered its first serious and successful attempt to meet its rivals head-on with a small car offering refinement, economy, drivability and reliability.

Besides the turbo-diesel, powered by 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated making 151 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque, all other Cruze models get four-cylinder gas engines. The base model is powered by a 1.8-liter normally-aspirated four producing 138 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque, while all other models get the peppy 1.4-liter turbo engine making the same horsepower but with 148 pounds of torque.

Why the CTS is Car of the Year Material

Such upgrades made it one of three finalists for the North American Car of the Year award, which Cadillac has previously won, making this a potential two-time win if General Motors takes home the honor again. Ready for a NEW, new Corvette?

2015 Corvette Z06Did you enjoy the release of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray the Detroit auto show this year?  Then get ready! Another Corvette will make its debut at the show in January!

Last week, General Motors revealed plans to unveil the 2015 Corvette Z06 at the North American International Auto Show. The automaker said it expects to begin production on the new high-performance sports car, designed to appeal to racing enthusiasts and speed-thirty sports car fans, in late 2014.

GM’s statement said of the vehicle, “It will be the most track-capable Corvette ever, designed to deliver supercar levels of performance through unique power train, chassis and aerodynamic features.”

While actual specs and statistics are still under wraps, obviously, rumor has it that the new Z06 could pack as much as 600 horsepower from a V8 engine of some sort. Possibilities include a twin-turbo 4.5-liter, normally aspirated 6.2-liter and 7.0-liter options, or a supercharged 6.2-liter V8.
