All-New Malibu Bows for 2013, Now With More MPG

Chevrolet has completely redesigned its Malibu midsize family sedan for the 2013 model year. The newest Malibu brings a suite of updated interior technology, bolder new styling and even a new hybrid model, the Malibu Eco.

The hybrid Malibu is actually the first to hit the streets with the standard gas-powered model soon to follow and a turbocharged EcoTec version not far behind. The Eco uses GM’s eAssist mild-hybrid powertrain, sending power to the front wheels thanks to a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and electric motor. Regenerative braking used to charge the batteries and a new stop-start function further add to mpg savings and cut down on carbon emissions. The EPA rates the Malibu Eco at 25 city/37 highway/29 combined mpg.

LS, LT and LTZ trim levels will use a newly developed direct-injection 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 190 horsepower and should return fuel efficiency meeting or exceeding the other gas-powered midsize family sedans in the segment.

Chevy’s new MyLink smartphone pairing and infotainment system highlights a restyled interior that boasts more cargo and passenger space than the model it replaces. Using a smartphone’s data connection, MyLink offers the driver and passengers internet-connected entertainment and convenience apps.

The Malibu is one of Chevy’s most time-honored nameplates, having adorned beautiful and spacious sedans for decades. The newest model carries on in this tradition and truly does it justice. The 2013 car’s sporty handling and efficiency combine with good durability to produce a midsize sedan that should be on every buyer’s short list.  Check it out for yourself at Les Stanford Chevrolet!

Cadillac CTS-V Sedan: Supercharged V8 Power and True Luxury

Crowning Cadillac’s lineup of midsize luxury cars is the high-performance CTS-V Sedan, its class-leading power and bold, angular styling standing out from its German competitors. Under the hood is a highly advanced 6.2-liter Eaton-supercharged V8 with 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque, an engine more powerful than those of the competing BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

Cadillac combines this Corvette-derived powerplant, also used in the 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1, with slick-shifting six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Zero-to-60 mph comes in 3.9 seconds, making the CTS-V Sedan the quickest production sedan in the world.

This Caddy is GM’s top sport sedan and will have no problem responding to driver input, always instilling confidence and unflappable in the corners while still smooth as silk thanks to its dynamically adjustable Magnetic Ride Suspension, which responds to road conditions multiple times every second and adjusts damping accordingly.

Cadillac’s touchscreen navigation system pairs with GM OnStar for unparalleled safety, directions from a real person and convenience features like Family Link, where Onstar users can track their vehicles through any PC. A Bose 5.1 surround sound audio system with 10 speakers features a diverse combination of music sourcing and connectivity options.

American car lovers and those looking for something a little different than the typical German luxury car would do well to consider the CTS-V Sedan. This world-class vehicle confirms that today’s GM can do luxury performance the right way.  Feel its power with a test drive at Les Stanford Cadillac today!

Cadillac Escalade EXT Offers Luxury SUV Comfort with Pickup Truck Practicality

Cadillac Escalade EXT at Les Stanford Cadillac in Detroit MICadillac Escalade EXT Offers Luxury SUV Comfort with Pickup Truck Practicality
Cadillac created the unique and luxurious Escalade EXT by swapping out the rear seat and cargo area from the standard Escalade luxury SUV, fitting instead a lined, closing and locking pickup bed. The EXT’s combination of durability and luxury is unmatched in the pickup segment.

GM’s innovative Midgate system, also used in the Chevrolet Avalanche, creates a pass-through between the truck bed and flat-folding rear seat, turning the EXT from a five-passenger luxury SUV into an 8-foot-bed pickup when called upon. The process is a breeze and helps this Escalade become one of the most versatile vehicles on the market.

Power comes from GM’s’s tried-and-true E85 ethanol-compatible Vortec 6.2-liter V8, making 403 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque. EPA-estimated fuel efficiency rings in at 13 city/18 highway/14 combined mpg. When running on E85, which is a mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% unleaded gasoline, fuel efficiency measures 9 city/13 highway/10 combined mpg, though E85’s lower cost per gallon is noteworthy.

Mated to standard all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission, this engine allows for a robust 7,600-lb. towing capacity, plenty for boats and small-to-midsize trailers.

The Escalade EXT is really the only vehicle in its segment, that being the luxury pickup truck. There’s plenty to like and few tradeoffs with this Caddy, which can stay right there with you through a hard day’s work, make a quick trip to the car wash and come out gleaming and ready for a night on the town. 2014 Corvette C7 To Add Another Classic Chapter to ‘Vette History

Even though a variety of companies have been cranking out fantastic sports cars for years, no single word captures the spirit of American Muscle than the word “Corvette.”  With the release of the 2014 Corvette C7 on the horizon, it seems everybody is dying to know what the newest Corvette will offer.

One thing’s for sure; Chevrolet is making sure that the C7 is designed fully in the spirit of its predecessors.  Despite rumors to the contrary, the C7 will retain the classic front-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration that has been a hallmark of the model since its inception.  The car’s suspension and size are set to remain very similar to the C6, though it is expected that the C7 will weigh slightly less.

Rumor has it that GM is working very hard to downsize the engines that power these beauties, while increasing efficiency to give the C7 similar or slightly more power than the current model.  The exterior style looks to remain similar as well, with some small changes to the hood and side mirror shapes.  The most noticeable change is in the rear-end; the four exhaust ports will be moved to the center of the vehicle in a single row.

Though many of these details are speculative, the picture that Chevrolet is painting about the 2014 Corvette C7 is getting clearer as the release of the C7 draws near.  It’s looking like the C7 is shaping up to be a sleeker, more efficient machine than the C6 that stays true to its Corvette roots.

Chevrolet has once again produced an impressive vehicle. The 2012 Cruze is highly rated amongst consumers. It offers great efficiency, convenient features,  and a stylish body all in one.

The Cruze comes in a trim called Eco which is known for its fuel efficiency. The Eco receives 26 city miles per gallon and almost 40 highway miles. With gas prices on the rise, having a vehicle that is fuel efficient is imperative.

Another important feature the Cruze is known for is its safety. According to the government ratings, the Ctuze received the highest score of five stars in overall safety rating. This impressive score is partly due to the 10 airbags and tire pressure monitor that come standard with the vehicle.

Coupe Worthy

The 2012 CTS Coupe hails from a long line of greatness which has never diminished since Cadillac’s inception.  In upholding this tradition, the new Coupe can best be described as the cherry on top of a sundae.  Deviating from its four-door brethren, this two-door example of showmanship combines luxury with class, speed, and grace.  At 188 inches the 2012 CTS is more compact and sits lower than that which birthed it.  A 318 HP base V6 engine can be upgraded for the super-charged 6.2 liter V8 engine and 6-speed transmission which combines in symphony the 556 HP, going 0-60 in under four seconds.  The all-wheel ABS braking system allows pinpoint deceleration and the ability to brake on a dime.  Beautiful from afar, the interior can only be appreciated properly up close and personal.

The soft leather seating of the CTS Coupe is only the beginning of what is poetry in motion.  The interior’s illumination is provided by Ambient Lighting complete with light piping under the dashboard’s wood trim with additional lighting over the console, in the footwells, and under the door pulls.  The Driver Information Center operates in harmony with the glide-up 8-inch screened navigational system to warn of low fuel while providing directions to the nearest fill-it station.  The swiveling HID headlights self adjust according to direction and speed, while the ten speaker Bose 5.1 system ensures that your traveling remains of the highest quality.
