The 2012 Chevrolet Corvette: It’s Fast

Despite the push toward vehicles with supreme fuel economy, drivers still love a fast sports car. Fortunately, the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette will satisfy the need for speed in every way. With a 6.2-liter V8 engine that blasts out 430 horsepower along with 424 pound-feet of torque, drivers will thrill at the vehicle’s responsiveness.

All Corvettes have the standard six-speed transmission and launch control while drivers may opt for the six-speed automatic for every trim level except the high-performance models. When tested, the base Coupe achieved zero to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, and when the Corvette with a dual-mode exhaust was timed, it hit 60 mph at 0.1 seconds faster.

Drivers will find the Corvette’s cargo space surprisingly large with 22 cubic feet available in the coupe and 11 cubic feet in the convertible. The interior features enhanced front seats in leather upholstery along with a seven-speaker sound system and dual-zone climate controls.

Drivers won’t be disappointed by the sports car’s safety features, which include side airbags and the active handling stability control system along with powerful antilock disc brakes. During testing, the Corvette was able to stop from a speed of 60 mph in just 118 feet.

Surprisingly, the Corvette’s fuel economy is quite good for a car with its muscle as it achieves 16 mpg when cruising around town and 26 mpg when drivers keep the vehicle’s speed at the legally posted highway limits.  With a Corvette in the garage, drivers will be supporting American-made products while potentially collecting a few speeding tickets.

2012 Cadillac CTS Wagon: Elegant and Utilitarian

Cadillac is traditionally known for its luxury vehicles, so seeing the company produce a utilitarian wagon may seem odd at first. However, the 2012 CTS Wagon quickly proves the preconceived notions wrong thanks to its strong performance, roomy interior and of course, the luxury appointments for which Cadillac is known. The 2012 CTS Wagon offers a great option for those looking to enjoy high-end comfort without sacrificing the ability to travel with the family.

The 2012 CTS is not merely a rehash of the prior year’s model, as Cadillac added a significant amount of power to the vehicle, which now offers a 318 horsepower, direct-injected V6 engine. But the added power did not add bulk; this year’s model of the Cadillac CTS is actually lighter than the 2011 edition, which makes the 2012 CTS incredibly maneuverable, even when loaded with passengers and cargo. Handling is highly responsive and taking tight corners is a breeze thanks to the impressive turning radius on the 2012 CTS.

Of course, the strong performance doesn’t mean the 2012 CTS Wagon is all brawn and no beauty. In fact, the model is just as elegant as higher-end Cadillac models thanks to a quiet, comfortable cabin with eye-catching interior styling and nifty standard features such as trip computer, Bluetooth, three free months of SiriusXM satellite radio, and much more. Both comfort and entertainment are covered; CD MP3 playback, auxiliary MP3 connectivity, OnStar and a seven-speaker Bose audio system complement dual-zone climate control, leather steering wheel, and electric outlets in the front, rear, and cargo areas.

2012 Chevy Volt: Not A Traditional Electric Car

As gas prices continue to rise across the United States, the demand for hybrid vehicles increases. The Chevy Volt made its first debut in 2011 as the most advanced hybrid vehicle made and is capable of being the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the world.

The Volt was introduced in 2011 as a vehicle that was to revolutionize the hybrid vehicle industry. The Volt is a hybrid vehicle, not just an electric car. With both electric and gas, this vehicle has the ability to go much faster and farther than a traditional all-electric car. As a matter of fact, the Volt can reach speeds of up to 100 mph and travel as far as 50 miles without ever using a drop of gas!

The 2012 Chevy Volt offers standard external features like a four-door hatchback body style, 17-inch premium alloy wheels, heated side mirrors and automatic headlamps. Inside the luxury continues with keyless entry, remote and keyless ignition, climate control that’s fully automatic, tilt and telescoping steering, OnStar, MyLink and a sound system with touchscreen included. The Premium package includes leather, backup cameras and parking assist sensors. Other available upgrades include DVD player, navigation system and Bose speakers.

Of course, the 2012 Chevy Volt is powered with an electric motor that offers a sensible 149 horsepower coupled with 273 foot pounds of torque. The gas-powered, 1.4 liter engine kicks in when battery power is under 30 percent. The batteries used to power the electric motor are 16 kWh lithium-ion that use a 120-volt or 240-volt power source to charge, which takes approximately three hours.

Standard safety features on the 2012 Chevy Volt includes airbags galore with front side, front knee and side curtain bags that span the entire length of the vehicle. The antilock braking system is super sensitive which makes braking almost immediate. Traction control is also included in this front-wheel-drive vehicle.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2012 Chevy Volt their best rating of “good.” Additionally, the Volt was given five out of five stars in government crash testing. This rating included both front and side-impact protection.

Escalade: Classic American Muscle and Class

When drivers encounter a Cadillac on the road, they cannot help but think of classic American luxury. Cadillac is the American version of royalty, offering drivers a feel of prestige that comes only from driving the most luxurious, attractive, stylish large SUV on the road, the 2012 Escalade ESV. The ESV is only different from the regular Escalade trim in that it is a few feet longer to afford drivers the additional cargo space. Already, the Escalade ESV has enough seating for up to eight passengers. Drivers can opt for second and third row bench seats or to replace the second row bench seat with two Captain’s chairs to reduce seating to seven passengers. The cargo space is nearly doubled in size in the ESV.

Drivers who purchase the 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV do not do so simply for the extra space, though that is a huge plus. Drivers purchase this American beauty because it is nothing but class, inside and out. The interior features leather seats, power accessories, a sunroof, foot rails, a USB port, an iPod connection, Bluetooth, OnStar, a rearview back up camera and front and rear parking sensors. It has a navigation system that provides up to date information for traffic and weather right now, based on the location of the SUV from the integral GPS system. Additionally, drivers can ask to have a dual screen DVD player installed in the back for passengers who want a little more in the entertainment department on long drives.

2012 Chevrolet Camaro: Power and Prestige

With so many new models introduced every year, it can be easy to look over the classics. However, Chevrolet has all but guaranteed one can’t look past the 2012 Camaro, as this model makes a strong statement with its powerful engine, retro-inspired yet modern-looking appearance, and surprisingly efficient engine. The 2012 Camaro is an attractive sports car that shows that ‘classics’ don’t have to be boring and can in fact be quite the opposite.

New for 2012 is the ZL1 edition, an upgrade from the Camaro’s standard and SS models that offers an incredible 580 horsepower. This high-performance package has enhanced styling and sports-tuned handling to make sure drivers feel as if they own the road. Of course, the other editions of the 2012 Camaro aren’t exactly slacking; the SS model offers a 426-horsepower V8 rig, while the standard model provides a 323-horsepower V6, an upgrade from the 2011 edition.

Choosing the least powerful engine actually provides a benefit of its own, as this is the most fuel-efficient rig at 29 mpg on the highway and 18 mpg in the city. Even this base model is well-appointed, with standard Bluetooth, satellite radio, MP3 player, stability control and traction control.

Whether you opt for the Camaro coupe or the convertible in the SS, ZL1 or base model edition, you’ll be able to enjoy a luxurious ride in one of the most well-respected American muscle cars in recent memory, upgraded to feature the newest amenities and impressive fuel economy. CTS: A Luxury Sedan with all the Bells and Whistles

The 2012 Cadillac CTS Sedan is one of the most attractive, visually appealing sedans on the road. With the look of a sports car, the CTS Sedan has a stylish appearance that goes hand in hand with its natural performance minded engine. For 2012, the CTS Sedan comes with an interior that defines sophistication and gadgets and gizmos that take technology to the next level. There are no other sedan in its class that even come close to comparing with the 2012 CTS Sedan, which is exactly what Cadillac goes for when the company designs its vehicles.

The exterior of the CTS Sedan is flashy. The look is sleek and sophisticated, almost mean. When someone sees it coming down the road, they know that this is a car that means business. Powerful and sleek are the two best words to define this car. While the exterior is all flash and aesthetic appeal, the interior is subtle, boasting luxury materials and high end features, the sheer elegance of this cockpit is overwhelmingly perfect. The Bluetooth system is accompanied by OnStar, a navigation system, a rearview back up camera and a keyless entry with a remote ignition. The 2012 Chevy Cruze: A Well-Rounded Compact Sedan With A Lot to Offer

With the introduction of the Cruze, Chevrolet has become a more competitive producer of compact cars. In the past, Chevy made compact cars that were adequate, but hardly competitive with small cars made by Honda and Toyota. With the Cruze, Chevy has become a segment leader.

The exterior of the Chevy Cruze resembles that of a luxury vehicle. It features sleek lines, sharp angles, and tight curves. Stylish placement of the headlights and tail lights add to the uniqueness of the design. While these features help the Chevy Cruze make a great first impression, they also contribute to the aerodynamics of the vehicle and add to its fuel efficiency.

The 2012 Cruze boasts a fuel efficient 38 miles per gallon. This is a two mile per gallon bump up from last year’s model. With a 15.6 gallon tank, the Cruze can go almost 600 miles on one tank of gas. According to Chevrolet, this increase is due to a lower axle ratio which allows for a five percent increase in fuel efficiency when compared to the 2011 model. The Cruze is also available in an eco-friendly model that travels up to 42 miles per gallon on the highway.

With upscale features that include a detailed information display, multi-adjustable seats, roomy interior, and audio and cruise controls on the steering wheel, satisfied drivers agree that the 2012 Chevy Cruze is a well-rounded compact sedan with a lot to offer.
